An extremely helpful video has appeared on YouTube demonstrating the dangers the children have to face when accessing and exiting Hoe Valley School in Mayford. This shocking video displays the necessity for change which we will be actively pursuing.

Workshops are run by and at the WCFP (Woking Community Furniture Project) in Woking town centre at the cost of £15 to cover materials. However you leave with your own Swift nest box. This project seeks to increase biodiversity within Woking Borough and provide additional habitats for swifts (classified as endangered in Great Britain). We would love to think that Mayford could make a worthwhile contribution to the project. Swifts are an incredible migratory bird that arrive in the UK in May to enjoy our summer and to nest, before returning to Africa in August. However, due to the design of new buildings there is often no spaces to nest and so their numbers are diminishing drastically. Surrey County Council will be carrying out drainage work on Prey Heath Road, Woking Signs are supposed to be put up tomorrow (11th September) These works are scheduled to start on 13/09/18 for approximately 5 weeks.
